Baby Boomers

Baby boomers are the generational cohort born after World War II. Also known simply as “boomers,” they are named after the unprecedented post-war spike in birth rates, referred to as the baby boom. 

Baby boomers are people born, according to the US Census Bureau, between the years 1946 and 1964, although the precise window varies. Culturally, baby boomers are those born in the post-World War II boom in population growth.

Baby boomers compare with Generation X (born between the early 1960s to the early 1980s), Generation Y (also known as Millennials, born between 1985 and 1995) and Generation Z (born between the early 2000s and the present day).
