      Open Promotion System

      Under open promotion system, the company considers all the existing employees as potential candidates and announces internally such positions opening. 

      Enhance participation and the achievement of equal opportunity goals.

      Here are some key features and principles often associated with an Open Promotion System in HRM:

      1. Transparency: The promotion process is communicated clearly to employees, including the criteria, qualifications, and expectations for advancement.
      2. Merit-based: Promotions are primarily based on merit and individual performance rather than favoritism or bias. Objective measures such as job performance evaluations, skills assessments, and qualifications are often used.
      3. Equal opportunities: The system aims to provide equal opportunities for all eligible employees to compete for promotions. Discrimination based on factors such as gender, race, or age is minimized or eliminated.
      4. Development and training: The organization supports employees’ professional growth by offering development programs, training opportunities, and feedback to help them acquire the necessary skills and qualifications for promotion.
      5. Job posting and internal recruitment: Vacant positions or new job openings are often advertised internally, allowing employees to apply and compete for those positions before external candidates are considered.
      6. Feedback and communication: Employees receive regular feedback and performance evaluations, which help them understand their strengths, areas for improvement and potential for advancement.
      7. Appeals process: An appeals process may be in place to handle situations where employees believe they were unfairly overlooked for promotion or where there are disputes regarding the promotion decision.

      Implementing an Open Promotion System requires clear policies, effective communication, and consistent application throughout the organization. The goal is to create a transparent and merit-based environment that motivates and rewards employees based on their contributions and potential.
